FAQ: Product Type
Healing Salve is only topical, meaning it helps skin conditions such as eczema, cuts, rashes, burns, and scars. The Pain Rub is for internal pain such as muscle problems, joint pain, and arthritis.
- The Softening Milk Mask is intended for dryer skin. The yogurt & buttermilk make this mask great for sensitive skin.
- The Healing Clay Mask is intended for oily, more problematic skin.
- The Rosehip Mask is intended for those who need more collagen and vitamin C, which decreases as we age. This is a great mask for those who are older with wrinkles.
- The Ocean Facial Scrub & Mask is intended for any skin type. The sea vegetables add nutrients and minerals that your skin naturally loses.
- The Green Facial Mask & scrub is intended for those looking to reduce inflammation, even skin tone, and fade dark spots.
At least 3 tablespoons (Johanna uses ¼ bottle per bath), but it’s up to you! We recommend filling the tub first, then putting the salts in so that you experience the full effect of the essential oils.
Bladderwrack is one of the sea vegetables used in the Ocean product line. It grows on some of the larger rocks that are along the edge of the water on Block Island.
Horsetail is a plant that used to grow wild on Block Island, but has been seen less over time. This herb is great for joint pain or muscle aches.
Yes, every mist can be used as a toner using a cotton ball, as a face mist, or simply as a pleasant fragrance. Some spray it on linens, pillows, closets etc. All of our mists can be sprayed directly on any part of the body.

The Baby Bug Spray does not include some of the plants and essential oils that the original Bug Spray is made with. The Baby Bug Spray is more mild excluding the use of Pennyroyal & Citronella.
Boil a large pot of water. Turn the water off once boiling. Put 3 tablespoons of the sinus steam in. Cover the pot and steep as you would a tea. Put a towel over your head, close your eyes, breathe in the herbal essences. You can reuse the same pot. Smells great, puts moisture back in the air and helps clear your sinuses!
Rosehips, Plantain, Chickweed, Cleavers, Red Clover, St. John’s Wort, Yarrow, and White Pine just to name a few. Every year our herb farm is expanding so eventually most if not all of the ingredients will be locally sourced from our very own garden!

Yes. Our line of natural skin care products have different expiration dates. The date will be mentioned on the packaging for your convenience
Each product mentioned on our website specifies what type of skin would best benefit from the product. Hence, making it easier for you to pick the right one. Additionally, each of our products are made from natural ingredients. This means they are meant to work for all types of skin!
Do not use our bug spray while pregnant or nursing.
Without a doubt! We actually promote it. You should cleanse your skin with a product that doesn’t dehydrate your skin or change its pH by disrupting the skin’s natural acid mantle. Exfoliating 2-3 times a week is also recommended if you are prone to congestion and breakouts.
Your skin will benefit from any of our products. The Green Face Cream and Rosehip Daily Cleanser along with many others are filled with ingredients that are meant to improve your skin’s complexion, tone, and remove any signs of wrinkles/aging.

We do not use any synthetic fragrances in any of our products. Our scents are 100% naturally-derived!
Most of our products do not contain animal by-products. However, please read the list of ingredients for those products that contain dairy or beeswax.
